Excellent Pre-Owned Condition. We recently relocated from Kansas and are downsizing pieces that have been fun to have but will not fit in the smaller home we built. I picked up this set, along with a few other aluminum pieces, at an estate sale many years ago. Aluminum housewares became fashionable during the 1930s, at a time when most Americans could not afford luxury metals like silver. At one time there were over 200 companies crafting hand-hammered/hand forged aluminum wares. This Everlast hand forged set was crafted sometime in the late 1930s to early 1940s. It’s a perfect complement to any modern or industrial-style space with its sleek angular handles, serrated mouths and hammered pattern. Together the set weighs 10 oz.; creamer measures 4¾” x 3¼”x 3” W/H/D; sugar bowl with lid 6¼” x 4” x 3½” W/H/D; capacity one cup, apiece. Overall in excellent condition with cosmetic wear that is typical for aluminum ware from this period (see photos). FYI, abrasive scrubbies and gritty cleaners are to hammered aluminum what wooden stakes are to vampires, never should they cross paths. Thanks for looking!
