A scarce English majolica jug in the Dogwood mold by Joseph Holdcroft, Daisy Bank, Longton, Staffordshire, circa 1875.A rustic pitcher having a raised branching Dogwood decoration on a turquoise bark-like ground, with a branch form handle.Showing both open white blossoms with yellow centers, and closed red buds. Crisp painting in register, and a gorgeous pink interior.Probably the best example of this jug that we’ve seen. Marked: a faintly impressed Holdcroft underfoot, also showing a label from Brilliant Antiques, London. 6.5 in. L x 3.25 in. W x 6.5 in. H Incredible antique condition.
